One of the oldest art forms in the world is being able to survive anywhere.

Whether it’s creating shelter or fire or even just managing to not be eaten, we have been doing it for millions of years.

In today’s world, there’s even layers of science added to it, so that it’s not just how to get a sharp edge on a rock but how to make the most of all of our technologies while we are in a survival situation and turn it into thriving.

Being able to go into the wilderness with nothing but your bare hands and survive is exciting and adventurous, yet most bushcrafters carry some sort of a metal blade, a container for water and some basic shelter because the amount of time it takes to make everything from scratch is prohibitive.

Even with these modern conveniences, it still takes many hours to create the basic necessities needed to survive outdoors for any length of time.

Most people go outside every day for a of couple hours. What we’re looking at is the ability to stay out overnight and maybe even a few days and nights in a row.

Biomes vary greatly and what is helpful in one location may not be so much in another.
Yet there are some things that are universal, and that’s what we focus on first.

What would you need to survive 3 days in a jungle setting that you would also need to survive in a desert.

Interestingly it’s almost always the same, it’s called the basics.

Bushcrafting is a mastering of basic skills for any situation.

To understand what these basics are, please click here and we will go into them.
