Berkeley Times is a newspaper that was started in Berkeley, California. They wanted to create local community through print.

The villain in the story was big corporate media and disinformation.

The problem on the inside was people were afraid to stand up to Big corporations.

The problem on the outside was that there is no reliable local media and print form that was easily accessible and affordable.

The conflict was wanting to put everything online and make it easy and at the same time knowing that that wasn’t working and people still needed to be able to read things in print.

When we met them, they wanted to put together an issue specifically for critters.

Arthur and Willy’s expertise at design and drawing came in handy when they needed a bunch of images to show the animals and creatures that that were being paid tribute.

Our strategy was simple. Gather to solstice and download all of the creatures for the year and then draw them one by one and submit them to the editor.

This allowed them to create value for the readers, build connection with the natural world and do it affordably.

This prevented them from having to pay a lot of money and go through a lot of difficulty with professional illustrators.

They were able to transform from thinking about an issue with critters to having one.
